the last part omg!! I see so many young people claiming to be spiritual “healers”, “guides”, and “coaches” as if they have arrived at some kind of end point or expertise. As if they have the standing to deem there is an ‘end point’ to be reached on a spiritual path in the first place! “I was asleep, but now I’ve Awakened and I can help you do it, too!” Just like christian salvation repackaged.
Thank you for my first comment on my enfire publication!!
Yes! I see this also.
Your comments regarding neo-spiritualism as repackaged xtianity is spot on.
Even as many of these people may be genuinely trying to deconstruct from "religion" ™️, very few realize they are still bringing a LOT of those same programming into their newly found "spiritual" tradition.
- Rooted in binary thinking (good/bad, right/wrong, light/dark)
- Always pushing toward some great Singularity ("we are all human", "we are all the same", "we are all One".)
- engaged in a toxic positivity that is just a coping mechanism for avoidance
- have a hard time taking responsibility for themselves, their family, and their community because talking about the past or present harm is "bad vibes" and they are committed to "good vibes only".
